Bruce Alexander Nowak

Bruce A. Nowak, age 84, from East Hampstead, New Hampshire, passed away at his home on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Bruce was born on June 11, 1941, in Exeter, NH, the son of Theodore Nowak and Eileen (Bruce) Nowak. He grew up in Exeter and lived in Kingston, then Angle Pond Woods in East Hampstead, NH.

Bruce was a graduate of Exeter High School where he played baseball and football. He went on to further his education at the University of New Hampshire and received his Masters at Springfield College. Bruce became an avid golfer starting in his teenage years. Being outside was an important part of his life.

Bruce's creativity and craftsmanship were reflected in his hobby of building birdhouses. Over the years he built and generously donated numerous birdhouses to family and friends and supported local charities that were touched by his thoughtful creations.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 60 years, Deborah (Patrie) Nowak; his devoted children, Jeffrey Nowak (wife Susan Murphy) from Kingston, NH, and Jennifer (Nowak) Alexander (husband James) from San Diego, CA; his grandchildren William Alexander and Lucy Alexander; and nephew, Eric Fernandes (wife Gail Carson) from Elliot, ME and their sons Zac and Luke; and nephew Jamie Fernandes (wife Kerry Morin), from Elliot, ME.

Bruce will be remembered by all who knew him for his humorous wit and ability to make people laugh with his storytelling.

The family will have a memorial at The Exeter Cemetery, Crematory Garden in the Spring.
