Bruce Sandor Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Allentown Funeral & Cremations Services, LLC on Nov. 24, 2025.
The Sandor family regrets to share the passing of Bruce Stephen Sandor on November 21, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Bruce was born on August 24, 1949, and lived in a tight-knit Hungarian community in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He practiced his Hungarian with his parents and his grandparents, whom he would often visit after school for a meal. As a child, he was a voracious reader and enjoyed playing music, especially practicing the organ. He attended Rutgers Preparatory School and graduated in 1966. Afterward, he went to college in New Hampshire for two years, pursuing a liberal arts degree.
While he spent most of his professional life working in retail stores, becoming a store manager for several companies, he had a passion for computers. Starting out coding in BASIC, he was a self-taught programmer. Later in life, he took that talent and applied it to cybersecurity. Aside from his different careers, he was a craftsman, handyman, and mechanic, who was more able and content to build or fix something on his own than rely on others to do it for him. He loved music and was proud of his wide range of tastes. He loved classical music, particularly Vivaldi. In his youth, he followed Bob Dylan, Steve Winwood, and the Beach Boys. He had an ability to talk to just about anyone. He loved discussing politics and had strong opinions on all sorts of topics. You could also find him watching a college football game or the New York Yankees.
Bruce was a dedicated family man. After helping to raise two children, he helped support his parents in New Brunswick. Throughout that time, he was someone many relied on for advice and help, and he never hesitated to offer anything he could. He went to great lengths to make birthdays and Christmases special by creating custom wrapping paper or boxes for his grandchildren.
Above all, Bruce loved learning. He believed it was the most vital thing that anyone could do. Learning guided his many changes in his professional career and fueled his curiosity in his personal passions. He was a believer in redemption and grace, and wished for all to succeed. It is these values that indelibly leave their mark on those who knew him best.
He is predeceased by his father, Stephen Sandor, and is survived by his mother, Helen Sandor; brother and sister-in-law, Eric Sandor and Patty Fries; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Michael Van Glahn; mother of his children, Brenda Frischer; son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Antonia Sandor; daughter and son-in-law, Kelsey and John Lentine; his nephews, Michael, Tyler, and Jesse Van Glahn; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Poff, Sean Lentine, Reiss Sandor, and Kai Lentine.
A memorial service will be held for Bruce at the Second Reformed Church in New Brunswick, New Jersey at 12 p.m. on November 28, 2025.
