Bruce Allen Saylor, a devoted father and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024. Born on April 26, 1958, in Clifton Forge, VA, Bruces life was marked by his dedication to family, service, and community.
Bruce is preceded in death by his father, Edward Nathaniel Saylor; his mother, Rosemary Byers Saylor; and his brother, Milton Saylor. He is survived by his loving daughter, Kasey Saylor, and her children, Holly Glass, and Elliott Mountcastle; He is also survived by his son, Nick Saylor; and his former spouse, Pamela Rhodes Saylor.
He is also survived by his siblings: sister Carol (Kevin) Compton; brothers Gary (Nancy) Saylor, Steve (Carol) Saylor, James Saylor, Russ Brackens, David Linkenhoker; and sister Dawn Hogan. Bruce leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who will remember him fondly.
A proud veteran, Bruce joined the Army following his education at Alleghany High School. After his service, he then retired from the VA hospital. Bruce was an avid whittler, crafting canes that he often gifted to fellow veterans. His passion extended to pool, where he excelled, and motorcycles, particularly Indian and Harley brands.
Bruce also enjoyed coaching youth sports, including football, basketball, and baseball.
