Bruce Allen John Schott , 73 of Lewiston, MN, passed away from a short illness on Monday, June 10, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving family. Bruce was born on August 15, 1950, to William Schott Jr and Beatta (Speltz) Schott. He was their youngest son. Bruce had three older brothers Mike, Bernie, and Tom and a younger sister, Mary Kay.
Bruce attended school in Lewiston where he was actively involved in football, basketball, golf, baseball, and bowling. He also was a member of the FFA and involved in 4H. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1968.
Bruce met the love of his life, Katherine Ann Dodge, and they married on April 4, 1970, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Red Wing, MN. They later had three children, Shannon, Brandee, and Thomas (TJ).
Bruce worked in bartending and farming and went to work for his dad at Schott Distributing Co., Inc. where he delivered beer. In 2010, Bruce became the President of Schott Distributing Co. in Winona, Minnesota where he worked until 2017. He was known as “Budweiser Bruce”.
Bruce is survived by his wife Kathy; his children, Shannon Jeffries, Brandee (Derek) Beyer and Thomas (TJ) Schott (Jen Preston). He is also survived by his dog, Gage. Bruce has 8 grandchildren, Dylan (Emily) Beyer, Noah Beyer (Brisa Zebe) , Avery Beyer (Michael Doubek), Kobe Schott, Grady Schott (Abby Bennett), Kail Schott, Edison Jeffries (Makayla Braaten) and Elissa Jeffries; three great grandchildren , Bennett Beyer, McKenna Beyer and Baby Boy Beyer; his brother Bernie (Judy) Schott, sister in law Mary Ellen Schott brother in law Kenny Peshon, brother in law Andy (Pat) Dodge, brother in law Kenny (Chris) Dodge and sister in law Sharon (Ron) Andrews; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Beatta, his in-laws Mike and Lola Dodge, his brothers Tom and Mike Schott, sister Mary Kay Peshon, Sister-in-law, Dana Schott and nephew Ryan Andrews.
Bruce’s family would like to give a special thanks to everyone on Mary Brigh 6G for their wonderful care of Bruce.
Memorials are requested to Lewiston Fools Five at https://foolsfive.org/A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston, with the Reverend Will Thompson officiating. A visitation will be at the church from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
