Bruce Sturgis Shepard went to be with the Lord on November 24th, 2025. He was preceded by his wife of over 55 years, Retha (Billie). He was also preceded by his daughter Suzy.
Bruce was born and raised in Westerville, Ohio. He was the son of Bruce A. Shepard and Francis Sturgis Shepard. He spent much of his childhood with his grandparents. After high school, he joined the United States Navy where he served many years. He enjoyed a second career as an auto mechanics instructor.
Bruce was a fan of antique cars and hot rods. He loved fishing. He will be remembered for his colorful stories, and kind acts of service for others.
He is survived by three daughters ; Tina Vicars (James), Sharon Francis (Dan), Jamie Clapsaddle(Alan) grandchildren; Joshua Wasmus(Justine), Jeremiah Wasmus (Sarah), Robert (Teddy) Wasmus ,Richard Wasmus (Vanessa), Livia Shepard (Jai), Gabriel Shepard and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his "brother" Allen Thompson, and other dear friends and beloved extended family members.
A celebration of life and military tribute will be held in April 2026 with specific details to be shared with friends and family as the date approaches.
