Mark William Shepard

Mark William Shepard, age 70, known to many as "Shep" or "Coach" passed away peacefully on November 24 at his home after a long-fought battle with cancer.

Mark was born in St. Paul, MN, and adopted in love by Joseph and Elfreda Shepard. He was a business owner, avid traveler, Scout leader, baseball and softball coach, and fisherman. He led many teams to championship games and wore many hats in the Scouting community, eventually being the District Commissioner for Kaposia, achieving his goal to help any individual who wanted to be a Scout. He relished fishing with family and friends, and his passion for travel was second to none.

Mark is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Debra, and children Crystal (Rob) Rossel, Daniel (Brianna) Shepard, Brittany (Brendan) Shepard, Mark (Angie) Corbett, Stefanie (Christopher) Corbett. Proud Grandpa Markie to Melissa (Dakota), Nicholas, Ethan, Faith, Logan, Makayla, Jack, Silas, Elijah, and great-grandpa to Hudson and Easton. Loving brother to Meg (Steve) deBorhegyi, Janet (John) Good, and many other extended family.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elfreda Shepard; his first wife, Barbie; his son, Ben; brother David, and others he loved.

Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 920 Holley Ave., St. Paul Park, MN with visitation an hour prior to the service beginning at 12 pm. Final resting place will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in St. Paul Park, MN. Please join us for a fun celebration of Mark's life with food and beer immediately following the burial starting at 2pm at The American Legion; 328 Broadway Ave; St Paul Park, MN.
