Bruce Snyder Obituary
Pastor Bruce Harold Snyder, a resident of Toledo Ohio, was born on January 25, 1937, in Mishawaka, Indiana. When he was eight, his father, who was a pastor, showed him that he needed forgiveness for sin, and it was at that time that Bruce trusted in Christ as his personal Savior. While serving at a rescue mission, God called him to be a pastor; he went on to serve the Lord faithfully for 60 years in New York, Idaho, Indiana, and Ohio. One of his favorite sayings was "If you miss heaven, you've missed it all." Because of his great love for Christ and great anticipation of seeing Him face to face, he adopted the motto "Perhaps Today." On January 24, 2024, that motto became a reality, when he was ushered into the presence of the Lord. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ellen (Read) Snyder; his five children, Brenda (Bob) Shawver, Bruce (Janice) Snyder, Brent (Sharon) Snyder, Beth (Darrin White), and Brian (Cindy) Snyder, sixteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, January 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 Laskey Rd., Toledo, Ohio, 43623. Condolences may be expressed online at

Pastor Snyder married us near ly 41 years ago. I'm so glad we got to see him not quite one year ago at the Emmanuel Baptist Church anniversary. I will always have nothing but the very highest of words for him.
