We are saddened to share that Bruce passed away peacefully at home. Bruce joined the Air Force in 1973 and was extremely proud of his service. One of his greatest joys was cheering on his nieces, nephews, and their kids at every sporting event —baseball, hockey, football, you name it. He was their biggest fan. Known for his honesty and his signature phrase, “Just my opinion,” he was loved by many and cherished lifelong friendships. Bruce was the one you could always count on to be there if you needed help—the kind of guy who’d give you the shirt off his back.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Spilde and Beverly (Flatt), brothers Michael and Gary, and sisters Patricia Matson and Marva Cameron, grandparents Frank and Iva Flatt, and Martin and Betsy Spilde.
He will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Preston, MN Military Cemetery. A Celebration of Life is planned for May 2026—details to follow.
