Bruce Stark, age 87, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

He was born on April 7, 1938, in Bee Branch, Arkansas to Johnson and Judith (Van Nada) Stark. Bruce grew up and attended school in Heber Springs, Arkansas, graduating from Heber Springs High School. Later, he attended Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas, receiving his bachelor's degree in accounting and earning his Certified Public Accountant license.

On December 26, 1979, he married Beverly (Dye) Ferrell in Independence, Kansas. Following their marriage, they lived in Texas and Missouri before moving to Coffeyville in October 2024.

Throughout his life, Bruce held various roles and achievements. He owned his own CPA business; he later owned and operated Best Western hotels in Texas; and he served as District Governor for Best Western in Texas. In his free time, Bruce had diverse interests, including reading, fishing, golfing, and gardening. He was a master gardener and a member of the Rotary Club when he lived in Branson, Missouri. Despite his various professional and personal engagements, what mattered most to Bruce was his family.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Stark, and children Rebecca (Gerald) Tarbutton, Kim Walker, Kirby (Stella) Ferrell, and Kathy Agan; grandchildren, Daniel Romine, Natalie Gathright, Levi Walker, Rachel Walker, Aaron Walker, Misty Hayden, Kandis Joubert, Jennifer Fanucci and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Jerry Stark, and Burke Stark. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, John and Judith Stark, brother John Carroll Stark, sisters-in-law Raegene Stark, Louise Stark, Earlene Stark, grandson Cory Thompson, and sons-in-law, Preston Walker and Hugh Agan.

The funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Westside Christian Church, 402 North Ohio Street in Coffeyville. with Pastor Mike Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Niotaze, Kansas.
