Bruce Sturm Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home on Jan. 19, 2026.
Bruce Alan Sturm, 74, of Eagle, WI, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, at his daughter and son in laws farm in Sullivan, WI.

For nearly 30 years, Bruce dedicated his life to education as a 5th grade teacher at Eagleville Elementary. His passion for music and love for nature were intertwined with his daily life, whether it was spending time at Lake Superior, strumming a guitar while listening to one of his favorite albums, or cheering on his grandchildren at soccer and softball games. He found joy in activities such as kayaking, fishing, taking walks in the woods with his dog Pearl, or sipping a freshly made cup of coffee on his back deck, listening to the sounds of nature in the early morning. Bruce believed profoundly in the healing power of the outdoors and shared this philosophy with everyone around him.

Bruce is survived by his son, Ryan (Megan) Sturm; his daughter, Emily Sturm (Samson De Franco); his cherished grandchildren, Lola, Carter, and Hudson; his beloved sister, Jeannette (Fred) Spingola; brother Danny Sturm; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Jeannette and father Jay Sturm, brothers David and Scott, dear friend Spencer, and grand dog Delilah.

A small, private service will be held to honor Bruce's memory. In lieu of flowers, Bruce would want everyone to find a way to enjoy the outdoors, looking for the small signs, and little things in nature that can bring comfort and peace to anyone who looks for it.

Bruce navigated this journey with courage, positivity, strength, and an unwavering gratitude for life, showcasing his remarkable spirit and will to live. He often reflected on the quote: "You have come to the shore, there are no instructions," which encapsulated his approach to life, especially during his final months.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Pro Health Care for the incredible care provided throughout this journey, with special thanks to Dr. Mohammad Raza and his care team. We feel truly blessed to have had such support for Bruce during this time.
