Bruce A. Talus

Ishpeming Twp, MI- Bruce Allen Talus, age 75, Ishpeming Township resident passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at UP Health System Marquette with his family at his side.
Bruce was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on October 31, 1948, a son of the late Otto E. and Lucille H. (Rock) Talus. Bruce graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1967 and attended Michigan Technological University for three plus years.
Bruce worked for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company for many years, and he retired from the warehouse Empire Mine in 2005. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Local 4950 and was currently serving as president of the CCI retirees.
Bruce was an avid sports fan and never missed watching a game. His favorite teams were Negaunee football, U of M, Detroit Lions and Tigers. Bruce also participated in local cribbage, pool leagues and many sports leagues including the Rudy Tamminen Fastpitch League.
Bruce was a sports trivia genius, he enjoyed cooking, and spending time at his camp on Bass Lake. Bruce and his wife were snowbirds for the past 9 years spending time in Florida. Most important to Bruce was quality time with his family and friends.
Bruce is survived by his wife Lois (Linna) Talus, whom he married on April 27, 1979, three children: Brian (Mindey) Talus of Marquette, Matthew (Vanessa) Talus of DePere, WI and Ashley Talus of Ishpeming, six grandchildren: Aubrey (Andy Kopsi) Talus, Brett Talus, Josh Carlson, Brynlee Talus, Harper Talus and Estion LeMoine, a great grandson, Cayden Kopsi, a sister Suzanne Sheldon, brother-in-law Mark (Tammi) Linna, sisters-in-law, Mary Jo (James) Johnson and Carol Linna, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dale Talus, sister-in-law Barb Talus, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jimmy Linna and Sonya Linna, brother-in-law Bruce Sheldon and granddaughter Olivia LeMoine.
Bruce's family will greet relatives and friends from 2:00 – 4:00 pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the Bethel Lutheran Church where a Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm with Rev. Tim Johnston officiating.
A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.
