Bruce LaVerne Wold, 72, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 31, 1953 at Sandwich Hospital to LaVerne and Lois (Sebby) Wold. Bruce graduated from Somonauk High School in 1972 and married Diane Stangeland July 13, 1974 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Leland, IL. Bruce was a mechanic at Bud’s Citgo before he ventured into carpentry where he found his passion. He started his own business as Wold Construction, where he dedicated his career to building and remodeling homes, his craftsmanship seen throughout the community. He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family and friends, who he selflessly put above all else.

He leaves behind his cherished family; his wife of 51 years, Diane and his three children, Lori Wold, Dena (Logan) Kraber and Erik (Jessica) Wold, and eight grandchildren Aiden, Liam & Emerson Wold, Remy, Katy & Frankie Kraber and Milani & Malaysia Wold. Along with two brothers Louis (Sherry) Wold and Kent (Christine) Wold and his aunt Mary Smith. He also leaves behind several nephews and nieces and cousins.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents LaVerne and Lois Wold, a brother, Arnold, in infancy and his parents in -law Merle and Betty Stangeland.

Bruce was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Somonauk IL.

Funeral Services will be Saturday February 21, 2026 at the Turner-Eighner funeral home in Somonauk IL with visitation from 9-11:30 a.m. with a service at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Hope Johnson officiating. Burial to follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Somonauk IL.
