The son of James Bailey and Mary Middleton, Scott (as he was affectionately known) grew up in Carlisle, Ohio. He was born on January 19, 1957, at Middletown Hospital and graduated from Carlisle High School before enlisting in the United States Army. He served a distinguished military career and retired in 1994. Following his military service, Scott worked as an HVAC technician and also served as a part-time officer with the Franklin Police Department.
Scott loved life, his family, and outdoors, especially fishing. He lived life on the edge for as long as he could, until God called him home. He was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and devotion to family. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many others whose lives he touched. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived and for the profound impact it had on those who knew him.
During his Army career, Scott attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. He proudly served with the 82nd Airborne Division and the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard). He also served as a drill instructor at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, a role he valued greatly.
