Bryan Marcel Harewood, 36, of Brooklyn, New York, lost his battle with End Stage Renal Disease on March 18, 2025.
Bryan was born to Gwanetta Council and the late Barry Harewood on October 20, 1988, in Brooklyn, NY. Growing up in the vibrant community of Bedford Stuyvesant, Bryan was exposed to a rich culture of music, art, and expression. He attended Junior High School 258 David Ruggles and Boys and Girls High School in Bedford Stuyvesant, where he quickly became known for his creativity and passion for the arts. Bryan was a loving husband, father, brother and son.
Growing up Bryan was a free spirit, laughing and enjoying his family. He always kept a smile on Grandma Cynt face when he wasn't getting on her nerves. Bryan and his father were as tight as a father and son can be. His love for his sister Charese always kept her smiling. Bryan and his siblings may not have had much growing up, but they had each other. Growing up Bryan had the love of his family and friends and that is what kept him going through trying times.
Bryan was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Sarah George, and an incredible father to his son, Jayden Harewood. His family meant the world to him, and he always made sure to put them first. As a husband, he was caring, supportive, and always there for Sarah through every challenge and joy. As a father, he poured his heart and soul into his relationship with Jayden, striving to be a positive role model and always showing his son how much he was loved. His love and devotion to his family were evident in everything he did.
In addition to being a wonderful family man, Bryan had an immense love for his spiritual beliefs as an Israelite. His faith played a central role in his life, offering him strength, guidance, and peace, and he carried his spirituality with him every day. His connection to his spirituality brought him peace and strength, and it was something that he held close to his heart throughout his journey.
Bryan also had a deep love for anime. He was always excited to discuss his favorite shows, characters, and storylines, and enjoyed sharing this passion with those around him. His enthusiasm for anime was just another way he expressed his creativity and love for unique forms of art.
An immensely talented dancer, Bryan adopted the stage name "B The Enforcer," where he made his mark in local dance scenes. Alongside his dance career, Bryan was also a gifted photographer with a keen eye for capturing moments. He was in
the early stages of establishing his photography business, driven by a deep love for visual storytelling.
Bryan's passion for both dance and photography demonstrated his versatility and ambition, as he put in constant effort to balance his creative pursuits with his goals for the future. His dedication to his craft, both in front of the camera and behind it, was a testament to his work ethic and vision for the future. Unfortunately, Bryan's life was cut short, leaving a lasting impact on his community and the people who knew him.
Bryan is preceded in death by his father, Barry Harewood; his sister, Charese Harewood; and his grandmother, Cynthia Clay. He is survived by his wife, Sarah George; his son, Jayden Harewood; his siblings, Barry Harewood Jr., Terrance Harewood, Tiffanie Harewood, and Chanae Council; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Bryan will always be remembered for his love, creativity, faith, and dedication to his family, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Repass to be held at 1572 Fulton Street Brooklyn, NY after the wake on March 28, 2025, at 8 pm. A processional will be held on Decatur Street on March 29, 2025, at 10:45 am.
