Bryan Jones Obituary

Visit the Conner Bowman Funeral Home - Virginia Market Pl. website to view the full obituary.

Bryan David Jones (Jonsey) passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2026. He was born on July 21, 1978. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and will be missed by so many.

He is survived by his father, David Jones, his mother, Bettie Baber (Steve), sisters Sarah Chamberlain (Paul), Jillian Jones (Mark Stone), and nieces and nephews Logan and Lilly Chamberlain, Sallie, William, and Wyatt Frost and Ryan Stone, who all adored their uncle Bryan.

Bryan was a strong, purpose-driven man who was skilled with his hands whether it be competing on the wrestling mat as a youth or building outdoor living environments. Bryan was a natural athlete who loved wrestling, achieving a state championship in his senior year in high school and continuing as he wrestled collegiately. Additionally, he was High School Wrestler of the Year in Roanoke area, Timesland. Bryan represented Virginia on the State USA Wrestling Team each year of his high school career, winning the Greco-Roman National Championship in his Junior year.

Bryan was a skilled craftsman. He established Blackwater Hardscaping and Landscaping, LLC 25 years ago. He received many awards, accolades, and praises for his unique landscape and hardscape designs through the years. His portfolio resides on the web site: Blackwater Nursery and Lanscaping.com and provides testimony to his meticulous craftmanship. Bryan loved his work and his clients became his friends.

He was a kind, caring person who shared his knowledge and skills willingly to all who asked. He was never boastful but was proud of his accomplishments. He loved his family and friends dearly, as much as they loved him. Bryan’s love for them will, and has, forever changed all for the better.

Bryan suffered physically and spiritually recently but was excited for the coming of another Spring. In his business, Spring brings a renewal…a renewal of Earth’s bounty as well as a renewal and fresh start for the individual. He was excited about this Spring, as he shared with family and friends. He was also thankful as God recently guided him as he read the entire Bible.

Bryan was a friend to all who knew him and had a very big heart. He would drop everything to help his friends in need. He and his friends shared a bond that was mutually beneficial during his lifetime. Many considered him a Brother. He will be missed by all but remembered for his kind nature.

By God’s Grace, Bryan was granted salvation as he accepted Christ as Savior for his sins. For this, Bryan was excited for the next phase of his life. Tragically for family and friends, his teaching and building skills, and his love will not be with us now. God has other plans for him. Rest in peace, our Son and Brother. May we meet again! We are forever grateful for your presence in our lives.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bryan Jones Memorial Fund as noted below. An annual Scholarship will be awarded to a deserving Franklin High School wrestler in Bryan’s honor.
