"Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen." - Your Song by Sir Elton John
Bryan Keith Lynn August 16, 1960 - May 11, 2025
If you asked Keith on most any day, "What do you want to do today?," his answer would likely be, "Go caving!" Many people who knew Keith had the privilege of going caving with him and his buddy, Wes. Those who didn't know him during his 'caving days' surely heard about his passion for cave exploration, his exciting adventures, and the spectacular sights he saw. When he and Wes weren't ridge walking in search of new cave entrances or down in a cave 'pushing' for new passages, they enjoyed leading trips for scouts, college clubs, friends, and other groups. There were no lighted paths or handrails in these wild caves like you would find in a commercial cave. Each trip was a challenging adventure. Some people discovered their own passion for caving after one adventure. Others were a bit unsure and frightened underground but glad they had the experience, got their selfies, and could say, "I went caving once." And, occasionally, there were those who melted down during the first climb over a breakdown pile or the first tight passageway or, yes, their first glimpse of a bat. Keith and Wes remained enthusiastic, reassuring, and patient throughout every situation. They had many tales to share.
Keith peacefully entered his eternal rest on May 11 th, approximately two years after his grade school buddy, Wes, passed. It is exciting to think that perhaps they are going caving together once again! Keith was loved by everyone who knew him. Seriously, he was. Even the family enjoyed teasing Grandma saying, "Come on, we know Keith is your favorite grandkid!" (He was!) Always kind, gentle, caring, and full of love, he extended a hand to people in need and touched many lives.
Keith had this incredible knack for fixing things and enjoyed doing so professionally as well as for anyone who might happen to mention they had something that needed fixing. Simply ask, and he'd offer assistance without hesitation. And Keith loved the Lord. He studied God's word and spent time in prayer every day.
He, of course, had trials to overcome throughout his life, just as we all do. As such, he counseled many hurting people by listening attentively and sharing the wisdom he gained through his faith, studies, and experiences. He was quick to help others who had challenges and misfortunes. He didn't think about this as counseling or even serving. He simply loved others. He did what was right. Keith loved everyone in his life but most especially his mama, papa, and grandma who he has now joined and his little sister who, like so many others, will miss his kind heart and sweet eyes.
A celebration of life is being planned in both North Carolina and Georgia, details are forthcoming.
