Douglas Todd Ashe, 48, of Rutherfordton, entered into the arms of the Lord on April 14, 2025.
A lifelong resident of Rutherford County, Doug attended RS Central High School and was a dedicated employee of Gilkey Lumber Company.
Doug's greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate, Darla Ashe, and his four daughters: Niki Hutchins, Shasta Boyd, Sarah McKinney, and Rebekah Hutchins.
He was a proud grandfather to nine grandsons: Dalven Hutchins, Jarvis Hutchins, Jabar Mayse, Michael Wilson, Carson Praytor, Junior Montgomery, Marcus McKinney, Kaden Hutchins, and Dakota Hutchins; two granddaughters: Haley Wilson and Alaina Hutchins; and one precious great-granddaughter, Lana Hutchins.
Doug is also survived by his loving mother, Patricia Ann Ashe Walker, and her husband Marshal Walker; his brother, Robert Gene Ashe; his bonus sister, Marsha Gail Yelton; and his cherished grandmother, Annette Shehan. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Elmore Ashe; his granddaughter, McKenzie Alazay Hutchins; his grandfather, Joseph Donald Shehan; and his grandparents, Miles and Bessie Ashe.
A celebration of Doug's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 18, at Oak Springs Baptist Church, with Pastor Todd Westfall officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
