James Lee Ashe, 65, of Taylors, SC, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 5, 2026. He was the cherished son of Earline Neal Ashe and the late William (Bill) Ashe. He was preceded in death by his brother, Randy.
James is survived by his two sons, Jonathan (Brooke) and Matthew (Brynne). He was also Papaw to grandchildren, Colton, Cason, Brantley and Robert (Bo), whom he adored.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Elizabeth (Lisa) Locke Ashe.
He is also survived by his cherished canine companion, Reagan.
He was born in Gastonia, North Carolina on June 7, 1960. He spent his childhood years in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. He enjoyed the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, where he developed a love of nature and the outdoors spending many hours with his dog, Ben.
James' Christian faith was greatly influenced by his grandparents, James and Ethel Neal with whom he spent many summers camping and enjoying his grandmother's cooking.
He was a graduate of Bob Jones Academy and Lander University.
James was a faithful member of Brookwood Church, where he served on the security team.
Prior to his retirement, James was employed for 38 years with Ryerson as a Senior Accounts Manager.
Though he will be deeply missed, we rejoice in the hope of eternal life, knowing that he has heard the words, "well done, thou good and faithful servant". His faith and love will continue to live in the hearts of those who loved him. James is best remembered as a loving son, father, grandfather and a devoted friend.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM on Monday, February 16, 2026 with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Entombment will be held in Glen Vista Mausoleum of Robinson Memorial Gardens.
