Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vessey Funeral Service - Fort Collins on Feb. 9, 2026.
A Celebration of Life for Bryan Alexander MacLean, also known as Lucy MacLean, will be held on February 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the LaPorte American Legion.

Bryan was born on February 22, 1993, to Christina and Scott MacLean. When they were just five years old, their father, Scott, passed away. Christina later married Donivon Wood, who lovingly raised Bryan and their siblings as his own. Through the union of Christina and Donivon, Bryan gained another sibling, Jillyan. Bryan attended Poudre High School, where they graduated in 2011.

Following high school, Bryan enlisted in the United States Army, where they served honorably for six years as a medic. During their service, Bryan was deployed to Kuwait, Iraq, and South Korea. For their brave service, Bryan earned various awards and praises, such as the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon, and Army Service Ribbon. In 2017, Bryan was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

After returning home, Bryan worked in a variety of fields, including hardwood flooring, plumbing, delivery driving, and rideshare services. During this time, they enrolled full-time at Front Range Community College, graduating in 2025 with an associate degree in general studies. Bryan also became a certified yoga teacher.

While in college, Bryan came out as transgender and began using the name Lucy, completing their degree with pride and determination.

Bryan had a deep love for the outdoors, especially camping and four-wheeling in their Jeep. They also enjoyed drawing, gardening, and spending time with their beloved canine companion, Max. Bryan and Max were inseparable and shared a special love for the Rocky Mountains.

Bryan was preceded in death by their father, Scott A. MacLean, and their brother, Anthony Scott MacLean.

They are survived by their mother, Christina MacLeod; stepfathers, Donivon Wood and Wayne MacLeod; siblings, Quinn MacLean and Jillyan Wood; and their son, Bryson Rhett MacLean.

Lucy will be forever remembered and deeply loved. May they finally be at peace.
