Bud Wayland

Claude V. "Bud" Wayland, of Pauls Valley, passed away February 28, 2026 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 94 years.

"Bud" was born September 25, 1931 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Henry Arthur and Goldie Mae (Logan) Wayland. Bud and Helen Courtney were married in Wayne, Oklahoma on September 24, 1960. He worked for Shebester Inc. in Maysville for over 34 years and many additional years in related oil industry positions. Bud was a faithful member of Elmore City Church of Christ for over 50 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose family was the center of his life. Time with family was precious to him and he dearly loved his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time outdoors in his garden, mowing grass and checking on the cows. His kind and gentle spirit was a genuine blessing to all those who knew him.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Arthur and Goldie Mae Wayland; 1 son, Roger Wayland; and 3 sisters, Neta Brogdon, Shirley Roberts and Mary Gillen.

He is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Helen Wayland, of the home; three children and their spouses, Gail Pilling and husband Mark of Norman; Lori Castner and husband Eric of Pauls Valley; and Mark Wayland and wife Shirley of Cordova, Tennessee; 8 grandchildren, Marti Baker and husband Stacey, Josh Mills and wife Corie, Bradlee Pilling, Maddie Pilling, Matt Castner and wife Aubrey, Mason Castner, Sam Wayland, and Cameron Wayland and wife Mia; also, 5 great-grandchildren, Cade Baker, Tristan Baker, Emme Baker, Tenley Mills, Sunny Castner, and twin Castner girls on the way; as well as 1 sister, Betty Ruth Blankenship, of Mustang.

Pallbearers will be Stacey Baker, Josh Mills, Matt Castner, Mason Castner, Sam Wayland, and Cameron Wayland.

The family will greet friends at a family visitation scheduled for Wednesday evening, March 4th, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Pauls Valley Church of Christ officiated by Joe Terrell. Interment will be at Mt.
