Billy Leon Clifton

Marlow: Billy Leon Clifton, 93, passed away in the comforting presence of family members on March 18, 2026 in Marlow, Oklahoma.

Public visitation will be available from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, March 23, 2026 at the Marlow Cemetery with Lonnie Harris and Kevin Quinones officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services of Marlow.

Billy was born on August 21, 1932 in Durant, OK to E.E. and Violet Marie (Moore) Clifton. He attended school in Alex, OK and went on to live in the Marlow area throughout his life. Billy married his life partner, Dorothy Richardson in Pauls Valley, OK on June 24, 1950. Billy and Dorothy shared over 60 years together before she preceded him in death on August 1, 2010. Billy was a 32nd degree Freemason, and a member of the Vital Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He worked in the oilfield throughout his career with Big Chief Drilling Co. Billy liked gardening and could often be found selling canteloupe on the side of the road. He liked going for rides, looking for deer and admiring the nature around him. Billy loved his family dearly, especially his dog Jax. He will be deeply missed in the days to come.

Billy is survived by his son, Ronald Clifton and wife Shirley of Marlow; daughters Shirley Robinson and husband Philip of Rush Springs, Debra Archer and husband Phillip of Marlow, and Brenda Carnell of Jackson, TN; grandchildren, Christina Elliott, Patty Pennington, Brandy Johnston, Bellinda Ball, Chastity Reeves, Deidra Osborne, John Clifton, Faith Cerrillo, Derek Archer, and Dustin Carnell; brother, Bobby Clifton and wife Sandra of Marlow; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, his parents, E.E. and Violet Marie Clifton, son, Billy Clifton, daughter, Carol Clifton, and son-in-law, Michael Carnell.

Pallbearers will be Derek Archer, Drew Elliott, Conner Archer, Chris Ball, Phillip Ball, and Dakota Harris.

Honorary pallbearers are John Clifton, Logan Archer, Dustin Carnell, Ryan Pennington, Evan Pennington, Ben Osborne, Allen Elliott, Scott Pennington, Chance Harris, Darrell Carnell, Joseph Cerrillo, Jordan Cerrillo, and Eli Cerrillo.
