Buddy Morris

Buddy Morris, 79, of Bowling Green passed away February 22, 2026 surrounded by his loving family at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

The Owensboro native was born August 12, 1946 to the late Maxine and Joe Morris. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Janice Dow. He was a longtime member of First Christian Church Bowling Green where he served in the roles of Elder, Deacon, Board Chair, teacher, youth leader, Community Grocery Store, and as a greeter (his favorite role). Buddy retired from Warren Rural Electric Cooperative as Purchasing Agent. He served in many roles during his 38-year career. Buddy loved woodworking, was active with Bowling Green East Little League, and also filled his time helping with a jail ministry and Habitat for Humanity. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. He never met a stranger and always put others first.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Jane Sharp Morris; children, Greg Morris (Mia), Leigh Ann Kerr (Russell), and Mike Morris (Barbara) all of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Kelsey Havens (Rob), Mindy Kerr (Nick Currie), Daniel Kerr, McKenzie Dillehay (Thomas), Max Morris, and Caroline Woods (Spencer); great-granddaughter, Annie Kate; special nephew, Kevin Church (Ericka); special niece, LaDonna Horn; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church Bowling Green with visitation from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday and from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the Church. Cremation was chosen. J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapels has been entrusted with arrangements.
