David Keith Barker

David Keith Barker died peacefully at the Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY on February 19, 2026 at 2:08 PM surrounded by his family who sang him to heaven.

David was born in Huntington, WV on March 26, 1940 to the late Nimrod B. and Ruby Tyree Barker. His parents continued to raise him in Huntington alongside his siblings. His childhood and youth were filled with creating wonderful memories and an unbreakable bond with his brother, Jack, and sister, Gail, whom he loved so dearly. David graduated from Huntington East High School in 1958.

David was married to his beloved wife, Donna, for 33 years. Together they not only shared a strong love for one another, but they also shared a love of traveling, and spending time with family and friends. David loved singing, his dog Mercedes, cars and fashion. Much of his working life was spent in fashion where he excelled as a salesman. He spent years working for major designers such as, Levi's, Zena, La Blanca Swimwear, Sassafras Swimwear, and numerous other brands. He spent his final working years as a financial advisor. A role that he valued and was well respected by a select group of clients.

David had an unwavering and firm relationship with Jesus Christ that was deeply rooted from his loving father, Nimrod and his older brother, Jack, who both served as Baptist ministers. Due to the fervent faith set out before him, David continued his steadfast and abiding relationship with Jesus Christ throughout his life. David was a member of Crossland Community Church. There, he was involved in small groups where he developed many relationships and touched many lives.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Carroll Wendell "Jack" Barker and his sister Betty Gail Reed. He is survived by his wife Donna Graft Barker. Also by his 4 children Douglas Keith Barker (Kathy), Rebecca Siers Tuck (David), Catherine Porter Ross (Jason) and David Andrew Barker (Anne) and Henrietta Thornburg Barker, the mother of his children and wife for 34 years.

David served as a loving Papaw to 13 grandchildren, Chris, Alyson, Andrew(Alex), Lexi (Cam), Blake(Abbey), Ashley(Austin), Mattie, Sam, Madison, Katie, Ava Grace, Sara Jane, and Molly as well as 4 great grandchildren, Jayden, Mason, Asher, Ripley and a great grandson due in May. He also has many nieces and nephews as well as a host of people who call him friend.

The family will accept visitors at Crossland Community Church on Sunday, February 22nd from 2-5PM with a service at 5PM officiated by Dr. Gregg Farrell and Dr. Steve Ayers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in David's name to Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.
