Robert Hellmann Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel - Bowling Green on Feb. 19, 2026.
Robert Aloysius (Bob) Hellmann, age 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Vanderbilt Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Bob was a kind, loving husband, father, and grandfather that cared deeply for his family and friends. He enjoyed woodworking, caring for his gardens, and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats. He was always thinking about his next project and nothing brought him more satisfaction than a job well done. Bob retired from the National Corvette Museum after 18 meaningful years, a career that shaped his life as much as he shaped the museum, leaving behind lasting friendships and a deep sense of pride in his work.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Lavonne; his children, Andy (Megan) Hellmann, Amy (Matt) James, Chase (Lauren) Hellmann, Adam (Kate) Hampton, and Jessica (Hayley) Hampton; 11 grandchildren, Molly, Emma, Layla, Carson, Charley, Savannah, Anniston, Lucy, Austin, Arizona, and Wyatt; and siblings, Steve (Cathy) Hellmann, Robin Hellmann, and Chris (Becky) Hellmann. He was preceded in death by his parents Aloysius and Jean Hellmann.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at the National Corvette Museum, 350 Corvette Drive, Bowling Green, KY 42101 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at noon followed by military honors.

In accordance with Bob's wishes, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741 in lieu of flowers.
