Robert Jaynes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel - Bowling Green on Feb. 17, 2026.
Robert Fredrick Jaynes, 79, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, in Bowling Green.

He was born on August 8, 1946, in Williamsport, Indiana. Bob was a devoted farmer, husband, and father whose life revolved around his family and the land he cared for. Nothing meant more to him than time spent with his sons - whether walking fields, talking farming, debating football, or planning the next deer hunt. He loved deer hunting and rarely missed a season. He was also a proud and passionate Wisconsin sports fan who faithfully cheered on the Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers.

Bob was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, where he earned his bachelor's degree. He served as Farm Manager for Rock County Farm in Janesville, Wisconsin, for 26 years. During those years, he and his children were deeply involved in showing Holsteins, building lasting friendships and lifelong memories through their shared commitment to agriculture. He later served as Farm Manager at Western Kentucky University, where he continued to lead with integrity, dedication, and a tireless work ethic. He took immense pride in farming, mentoring others, and doing things the right way.

Bob will be remembered for his steady presence, his strong work ethic, his deep love for his family, and the countless conversations shared with those he loved most.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Henke Jaynes; their three sons, Matthew Jaynes and his wife Cindy; Mark Jaynes and his wife Marissa Stewart-Jaynes; and Luke Jaynes and his wife Abigail. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Grant, Beau, Tucker, Foster, Ethan, and Elyza. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Jaynes-Tenant; his niece, Katie Tenant; and his nephew, Brian Tenant.

There will be a celebration of life in June in Wisconsin.
