James (Buddy) Clinton Roberts, a cherished resident of Sparta, Tennessee, was born on May 16, 1935, and left this world on December 25, 2025. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy filled with warmth, kindness, and love.
James was the beloved son of James Clyde and Lillie Mae Roberts, whose influence shaped him into the man he became. He was married for 62 beautiful years to his late wife, Carol Dean (Goodwin) Roberts, who was his lifelong companion and confidant. James is also predeceased by his son, Jason Roberts, and his siblings: Charles Roberts and Dorothy Wilson.
James was a dedicated brother to Steve Roberts, who survives him. Additionally, he leaves behind a thriving family, including his daughter, Denise Roberts, along with his grandchildren: Samantha, Jimmy Joe, Abbie, Stephine, Melissa, Nikkia. He also cherished the joy of being a great-grandfather to Katie, Alex, Ricky Bruce, Zianna, Ollie, Kolton, Bailey, and Arabella.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.
His funeral services will be held at Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta, Tennessee. Visitation is scheduled for December 29, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. The family welcomes all who wish to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a remarkable man.
James (Buddy) Clinton Roberts will be remembered fondly for his generous spirit, keen sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.
