Bug Jordan, a man of great humor and boundless affection, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, in Jasper, Georgia. Born on June 4, 1952, in Canton, Georgia, Bug spent 38 dedicated years working in the logging industry alongside his father, brothers, and brother-in-law at J and J Logging.
A member of the Mica Baptist Church, he was known for his thoughtfulness and love for his community. As a passionate outdoorsman, Bug found joy in hunting, fishing, and following NASCAR. He cultivated a life full of laughter and love, and his ability to make friends with everyone he met was unmatched.
Bug also relished his time cattle farming, an interest that spoke to his love for the great outdoors. Remembered for being loving, funny, and incredibly thoughtful, Bug Jordan leaves behind a legacy of warmth and vibrant spirit that will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Rena Mae Jordan; sisters, Elone Ray and Wanda Wilson; and nephew, Wesley Jordan. Bug is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patsy Jordan; brothers, Lamar Jordan (Kay) and Joe Jordan (Karen); sister, Ruth Ann Jordan (Glenn); as well as beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Holaway and Rev. Kyle Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Mica Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 10th from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, September 11th from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Serving as pallbearers will be Conner Jordan, Brett Holcomb, Ayden Holcomb, Landon Holcomb, Rylan Holcomb, Scott Jordan, Lane Jordan, Nicky Bailey, Keith Allen, Ty Allen, and Kenny Dean
