Shirley Mae Wright

Shirley Mae Wright, age 79, of Cumming, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. She was born on August 16, 1946, in Cumming, Georgia, to the late Paul and Flora Phillips.

Shirley was a member of Settendown Baptist Church. She worked for many years as a personal caregiver, a role that reflected her kind and giving heart. Shirley was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, and her family was the center of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Wright; her daughter, Melissa Faye Wright; and three brothers and nine sisters.

Shirley is survived by her children, Tony Wright, Jerry Wright, and Jennifer Wright; ten grandchildren, Leighanna Stanko, Joshua Wright, Zachary Desch, Dakota Wright, Caleb Wright, Trey Davenport, Dillon Thomas, Lily McAllister, Natosha Land, and Elijah Gattes; seven great-grandchildren; as well as beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jason Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
