In Loving Memory of Burhan Hamid November 6th, 1947 – February 4, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Burhan, who departed this world on February 4, 2025 at the age of 77. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, he leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and creativity.
Born on November 6, 1947, Burhan lived a life full of passion and purpose. His love for the skies led him to a distinguished career as a pilot, where he flew with great dedication and expertise and saw much of the world. But beyond his profession, he was a man of many talents and boundless curiosity. Whether painting portraits in oil, crafting with wood, restoring vintage cars, or creating delicious meals in the kitchen, his hands were always at work bringing beauty into the world. He was also an avid fan of Westerns and classic cinema, and was deeply knowledgeable in subjects ranging from physics to history.
Burhan was preceded in death by his beloved parents, whose memory he cherished throughout his life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Nassra, and their three loving children, Zaki, Nina, and Yassmeen, who will forever carry his wisdom, warmth, and adventurous spirit in their hearts.
Though he has left this earth, his love, laughter, and artistry will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His family finds solace in the countless cherished memories he gifted them and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday February 8th, 2025 at 1 pm at Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State Street, Schenectady, NY 12304.
