Burl Walker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory - Huntsville on Feb. 18, 2026.
Burl Fernando Walker, 89, of Huntsville; passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Willard Walker Hospice Home, in Fayetteville. He was born Sunday, March 8, 1936, at Marble; to Talbert and Eliza Watson Walker.

Burl was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Ines Marie Bartlett Walker, and together they were blessed with two daughters, Pam and Janet. He dedicated many years of faithful service to the Arkansas Department of Transportation and was a devoted member of the Big Sandy Church.

Burl was known for his strong work ethic, warm sense of humor, and gift for storytelling. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life-spending time outdoors hunting arrowheads, tending his garden, fishing, and deer hunting. He loved farming and raising cattle, and he took pride in canning and even sewing.

Above all else, Burl cherished his family. They were the center of his world, and he would do anything for them. He shared a particularly special bond with his son-in-law, Dean-serving as his steady shadow and loyal sidekick.

Burl was preceded in death by his wife, Ines Marie Bartlett Walker; one daughter, Pam McCarty; his parents, Talbert and Eliza Walker; three brothers, Lindy Walker, Charles Walker, and Duel Walker; two sisters, Obedia Outlaw and Verl Oliver; and one granddaughter, Amanda Tippett.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Dean Phillips; four grandchildren, James Phillips, Jana and Wes Beaver, Racheal McCarty, and Tammy and Jim Aykers; and five great-grandchildren, Logan Shoemaker, Aubrey Beaver, Hannah Tippett, Faith Tippett, and Justin Young. He is also survived by two nephews, Todd Oliver and James and Patty Outlaw; one great-nephew, Jack and Charissa Outlaw; and two great-nieces, Abigail Outlaw (his birthday girl) and Eliza Outlaw.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Alabam Cemetery with Dwain Houston officiating. Pallbearers will be James Outlaw, Jack Outlaw, Jesse Tippett, Wes Beaver, Logan Shoemaker, Cecil Armer, Chuck Harris, and Dennis Phillips. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
