Byrdie May Lopez, age 97, of Hastings, Michigan, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on August 28, 2025, in Middleville, Michigan. She was born on April 11, 1928, in Dowling, Michigan, the beloved daughter of Burd and Sarah (Paddock) Allen.

Byrdie lived a full and joyful life, always cherishing the simple pleasures that brought her peace and happiness. She loved sitting on her deck watching the birds, going for walks, golfing, traveling, and playing cards with family and friends. She took great pride in her farm, which was a source of joy and accomplishment throughout her life.

Known for her warmth and kindness, Byrdie touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her gentle spirit and generous nature left an enduring mark on her family, friends, and community. She was truly the kindest of souls, loved by all who knew her.

Byrdie was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Blanche (surviving husband William) Brace, and her dear friend Nyann Coarser. She is survived by her children Ida Lopez, Ruth Burch, Cipriano Lopez, Mary Lopez, and Linda (Daniel) Vrooman; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and her special friends at Carveth Village, Reva and Doloras, and special friend Becky Magoon.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Carveth Village in Middleville for their love, care, and support in Byrdie's final years.

Byrdie's life will be remembered and celebrated by all who were blessed to know her.
