BYRON EARL "BUD" BLAKE Byron Earl "Bud" Blake, 94, of International Falls died on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Rainy Lake Medical Center Hospital. Bud was born on April 29, 1930, to parents Marlys (Berryman) and Clayton Blake. He attended school in International Falls and graduated in 1948. He married his high school sweetheart, Norma Pullar. They were married for 71 years. Bud was a US Navy veteran. Upon returning home, he worked at Boise Cascade until retirement. When all the kids were young, Bud loved to load everyone into the car and go for weekly rides. They also spent summers at their cabin in old Rainy Lake City where they hosted many family get togethers. He loved going to auctions and rummage sales, snowmobiling, bowling, and he was a member of a flying club. For over 30 years Bud and Norma wintered in their second home at Superstition Shadows in Apache Junction, Arizona, where they had many lifelong friends. Bud was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church in International Falls and attended church at Mountain View Lutheran Church in Apache Junction. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; his parents; stepfather, Bob Hess; sons, Frank and Michael Blake; granddaughter, Shelby Blake; brothers, Clarence, Jim, and Jack Blake; sister, Sylvia; brother-in-law, Harry Watkins; brothers-in-law, Leon, Bert, Arnold, and Robert (Bob) Pullar; sister-in-law Vera and brother-in-law John Slatinski; and son-in-law, Alan Sullivan. Bud is survived by his sons Randy (Jody) and Chuck (Sarah) Blake; daughters Brenda (Alan) Sullivan and Janet (Donald) Ewald; brothers-in-law Norman (Joan) and Larry (Jackie) Pullar; sisters-in-law, Gladys (Gorden) Cassibo and Beverly (Jim) Kockelman, Dori Pullar, and Patty Bruyere; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
