Obituary for Byron

Byron Thaddeus Mounce was born July 21, 1981, in Minot North Dakota and died October 28, 2025, in Limon Colorado.

He moved with his family during his father's Air Force career to Great Falls MT, Omaha NE, Minot ND (twice), and Tacoma WA.

He graduated from St Frances Cabrini Grade School (Lakewood WA) in 1995 and Clover Park Technical College (also in Lakewood) in 2000.

He had various jobs until he began work as a technician at several locations in the recreational vehicle (RV) industry then started his own RV mobile repair business in Colorado along I-70. He possessed a strong ability to quickly diagnose and repair complex problems on all RV types.

He loved the outdoors and hunting, especially in Montana. He enjoyed playing the piano and had early on earned a first-degree black belt in Taekwondo as well as playing golf. He was a natural athlete and ice hockey was his first love, both as a player and as a level 4 amateur referee.

In Deer Trail CO, he served as a city council member, the mayor pro temp, and as a firefighter.

He was fearless with a quick humor and a willingness to help. He was a baptized and confirmed Roman Catholic who defended the pro-life position whenever possible.

He married Bethany Brent in December 2023; they had one child together, Harper Michelina.

He leaves behind his father and mother, George III and Priscilla Mounce (Tacoma WA), his brothers George (Caledonia MS) and Dorion (Tacoma WA), his sister Rachel (Bossier City LA), his sons Byron II (Tacoma WA), Xavier (Aurora), his daughter Maleah (Aurora), his two grandsons, Byron III and Lincoln (Tacoma WA), a yet unborn grandchild, Bethany's children Owen, Braelyn, and Declan, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, as well as the many friends everywhere he lived.

Along with the service in Limon, a solemn funeral Mass will happen on November 11, 2025, at Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Lakewood WA, with burial at Mountainside Cemetery, Scholls Oregon.

We will miss him deeply and dearly.
