Barry was the oldest of an our group of Ulmer cousins who grew up together. I remember Barry as a child - when he fell out of the bunk beds at his home on Owl Hill, when he got a terrible case of poison ivy, and when he became a Cub Scout. As he grew older, I remember how he always had his nose in a book, how he went to church on Wednesday nights at his mom's insistence because he had a part time job on Sundays, how he had a bedroom decorated with 1950's cowboy bedspreads. He was quiet and so smart. When I was visiting one time in Drexel Hill, I was struggling to finish my math homework. He took it and finished it for me in a few minutes, it was so easy for him. He was a good son and a big help to his parents after his dad had a stroke at a young age. It was hard on him to see his dad so debilitated, but he was so proud of how his dad made it to work everyday no matter the obstacles. I saw less of Barry as we got older, but we always stayed in touch. I know he loved Sylvie and his children so much. He was a kind and loving man with a ready laugh and big heart and I will always remember him. With love, Karin
