Beloved husband, son, father, brother and papaw, C.H. Clayton, Jr., 61 years old, gained eternal rest on Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, at Franciscan Health Hospital in Mooresville, Indiana. C.H. was born Sunday, December 29th, 1963, in Martinsville, Indiana to Peggy Louise (Hood) Richardson and the late C.H. Clayton. C.H. worked as a bricklayer most of his life, working for McVay Industries and Williamson Construction both in Indianapolis and Mitchell Masonry in Avon. He enjoyed bowling with his children, hunting with his boys and grandchildren, woodworking, collecting knives and staying current with the news. He leaves behind a host of loving family including his wife, Shannon S. (Richey) Clayton of Martinsville whom he married on October 25th, 2003; mother, Peggy Richardson of Martinsville; son, John Thomas Clayton (Lena) of Brazil, Indiana; daughters, Sammantha Tincher (Chris) of Reelsville, Indiana and Andrea Spurling (Jeff) of Illinois; stepsons, Brett Allen Lucas (Christy) of Cloverdale, Indiana, Braxston Jason Lucas (Angie) of Greencastle, Indiana and Brayden Lee Farris (Kylie) of Solsberry, Indiana; sister, Tammy Barber (Danny) of Martinsville; half-brothers, Casey and David Clayton of Martinsville, Chuck Richardson (Lori) of Martinsville and Todd Richardson of Greenwood, Indiana; stepsisters, Terina Ray of Paragon, Indiana and Teresa Mason (Mike) of Kentucky; eighteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, William Andrew Clayton, sisters, Jan Miller and Ann Vandergrifft and stepfather, Danny Richardson. In honoring his wishes, his earthly remains were cremated. Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, May 30th, 2025, from 3:00 pm- 6:00 pm at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center in Martinsville. A memorial service celebrating his life will begin immediately following the visitation at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society, c/o Neal & Summers,110 E. Poston Rd., Martinsville, IN 46151.
