My first memory of Ed, I was possibly 7 or 8, all the relatives were at his aunt´s home, my great Aunt Carrie. Ed brought a Monopoly game, which I had never seen before and taught us the rules. He has always been a presence in our family. Always kind, we always enjoyed seeing him, even though it was rare, as we all grew up and moved away. We always sent each other Christmas cards.
I would see him when we would visit my sister, during the summer, in Mt. Gretna. He will be missed and not forgotten.

You were such a wonderful friend for my Dad all those years. You touched our family with your kindness . I will always that fishing trip you took with us. As my pole went to the bottom of that Canadian lake. Thank you for passing through. Love you

Ed is my cousin and he & my Dad had the same birthday! My parents & Ed celebrated many of those birthdays together in their retired years, they had so many moments of fun and taking care of each other together - each Summer when I would get back to PA, specifically Mt. Gretna, Ed and I would take turns taking each other to lunch and he would come and sit on the Porch & reminisce about the Schofer´s and many stories from when I was a mere child and not remembering all of the people or stories. He would drive me past the Schofer Homestead and farm and bridge and we would laugh and make new memories! He had a lot of memories to share and I enjoyed listening to them all! Godspeed Ed - I will miss your Birthday lunches
