Dr. C. Michael Weldon

Dr. C. Michael Weldon, age 74, of Richmond, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023, at Compassionate Care Center.
Dr. Weldon, the son of the late Claude Ezra and Garnet Bernard Weldon, was born on March 31, 1949 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He graduated from The U.S. Academy at West Point in 1971 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. In 1976, he graduated from Vanderbilt School of Law where he obtained his Doctor of Law degree. He was co-owner of Burnam, Thompson, Weldon, Simons & Dunlap, P.S.C. where he practiced for many years. Mike loved to learn and his bride affectionately called him "Mr. Vocabulary." He also enjoyed travelling to Paris and also spending time with his 50 pound "puppy," Bailey. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
On April 2, 1992, Mike united in marriage to Coy Burnam Weldon who survives.
Other family members include: his son: Christopher Michael Weldon (& Melissa Levine) of Cincinnati; Chris' daughter: Katelyn Marie; Coy's daughter: Jamie Samuelson (& Marc) of Houston, Texas; Jamie and Marc's children: Parker and Emma; his sister: Marsha June Weldon; his mother-in-law: Emma Coy Hagan Burnam; three nephews: Thom Saylors (& Megan,) Jacob Thomas and Daniel James Saylors and his family friends: Charles Williams, Scott Horan, Bernice Turner and Tracy Weldon, Holly Jacocks, Hank Jacocks, Gerald Thomas and Don Combs.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 10, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church, W. Main St., Richmond with Dr. Curtis "T" Christian IV officiating. Military Honors will be observed at the close of the service.
