Jerry Wilson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home on Jan. 27, 2026.
Mr. Jerry G. Wilson, 79, of Richmond, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, in Florida.

Jerry was born in Clark County, Kentucky on July 13, 1946. He was a US Army veteran having proudly served his country during the Vietnam War stationed in Germany. Jerry was a dedicated employee of Rockwell International where he worked for over 20 years before his retirement. A short time after retirement, Jerry became a bus driver for the Madison County School System where he enjoyed the daily adventures with the kids on his route. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed going to yard sales, searching antique markets, and spending time with his family.

In 1999, Jerry married Glenna Harvey and together they have shared 26 wonderful years.

Each year, Jerry & Glenna would become "snow birds" traveling down to Florida where they enjoyed spending the winter months in warm weather. Jerry loved his Eagles Nest Community Family and looked forward to Friday Night Dominoes with his friends.

Mr. Wilson was a member of the Thomas Baptist Church in Estill County and he loved going to services and being with his church family.

Survivors include: his wife, Glenna Harvey Wilson; his children, Jason Wilson (Christan), and Amy Ada (Adam); his bonus children, Patty Shanks (Jimmy), Scott Centers and Michelle White (Darrell Webb); his aunt, Juanita "Aunt Bud" Burkhart; three grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; and numerous bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Phillip Wilson; his mother, Iness Baber Wilson; and his step-mother, Mary Elizabeth Wilson.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, with Bro. Rick Kirby officiating.

Visitation will be after 11 AM Monday, at the funeral home.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jason Wilson, Ryan Williams, and the men of Thomas Baptist Church: Earl Kirby, Randall Thomas, Tommy Kirby, Josh Kirby & Niles Fowler.

Due to weather, burial will be in the Madison County Memorial Gardens at a later date.
