Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Central CityCabrina Marie Ball, 67, of Central City, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on December 12, 2025, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. Burial will be held at a later date at Boulder Cemetery, rural Central City. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Central City is assisting the family.
Cabrina was born on April 18, 1958, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of James Howard, Sr., and Gloria Jean (Betzer) Pflughaupt. She was a 1976 graduate of Central City High School. On December 21, 1978, Cabrina was united in marriage to Patrick Joseph Ball. Cabrina worked as a Legal Secretary and Administrative Assistant for the City of Cedar Rapids. She was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Cabrina enjoyed sewing, gardening, and attending her grandchildren’s activities. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cabrina is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Kent (Tricia) Ball of Solon, Iowa, Ian (Dawn) Ball of Amana, Iowa, and Brianne Ball (Tim Schmitt) of Williamsburg, Iowa; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Jim (Julie) Pflughaupt, Jr. and Joe (Traci) Pflughaupt; sister, Kim (Larry) Leopold; and father, Jim (Carol) Pflughaupt, Sr. of Central City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick; and mother, Gloria Pflughaupt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Cabrina’s memory may be directed to Salvation Army, St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Central City, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prairieburg, Iowa, or any Catholic Charity.
