Caleb Kevin Cook, 44, passed away on January 21, 2026, following a brief hospitalization.

Caleb was born on September 30, 1981. From an early age, he showed a strong creative spirit and a love for music and performance. He sang in choirs and participated in theater during his youth, and those interests remained part of his life.

As an adult, Caleb spent much of his time between New Orleans and the San Francisco Bay Area. He was drawn to creative spaces, shared experiences, music, art, and community, and he formed connections easily wherever he went.

Caleb worked in the culinary field and took pride in his craft. Cooking was a constant in his life, both professionally and personally. He cared about recipes, technique, and the details of his work, and the kitchen was one of the places where he felt most at home.

He is survived by his parents, Tom and Michele Lewis of West Monroe, Louisiana, and Kevin and Jodi Cook of Wheeling, West Virginia; his grandparents, Joel and Deanna Cook, and John and Joann Duckworth; his siblings Joshua Cook and wife Kimberly (Sarah and Jacob) David Lewis, Matthew Lewis, Madison Lewis, Thomas Lewis Jr., Jessica Cook, Kaden Cook and wife Alley, and Bear Cook and wife Makaila; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, T.C. and Nell Lewis.

A memorial service celebrating Caleb’s life will be held on February 28 at 1:00 p.m. at WFR Church in West Monroe, LA. All are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
