Mr. Short was my middle school science teacher. He was definitely one of my favorite teachers at school. He always felt relatable and like a friend. He would always try to get us to think outside the box and to think deeply. He would always try to make us laugh and have fun. I still have a home-made, wooden axe that me and my dad made together for a project in his class that reminds me of him. The biggest thing that reminds me of him though is that we both liked the band imagine dragons. To be in middle school and your teacher like the same music as you seemed like the coolest thing. He really liked the band´s second album, Smoke + Mirrors, and the song Hopeless Opus. Whenever I heard that Mr. Short was sick, I listened to that album and that song. I specifically remember him bringing me to his office to show me the Thunder music video as well. I have many other memories that my classmates and I would share like journaling about quotes, having the "fuzzy" chair, and watching Christian videos and/or songs in his class, but sharing the same interest in music was the most personal one, and I´ll always think about him whenever I listen to that album. I love you Mr. Short, and thank you for being a great teacher, person, and making all of us students feel like a friend.
