He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Craig and Victor; and cousin, Rhiannon Root.

Caleb Daniel Tyner was born January 28, 1982 to Bob and Julie (Richter) Tyner in New Ulm. He graduated from New Ulm Public High School in 2000. Caleb went on to earn a bachelor's degree in history from Minnesota State University in Mankato. He began working towards his master's degree in history, but was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2013 that changed his life.

Caleb worked most of his life as a cook at Perkins, both in New Ulm and Mankato. He made countless friends over the years there, one of which was Betsy Schutte. Caleb and Betsy were married on April 22, 2023 in Las Vegas. The couple loved traveling together and living life to the fullest. Beyond traveling, Caleb loved playing any and all games, reading, going to concerts, listening to music, and getting together with his friends and family. He will be dearly missed by those that knew him.
