Caleb James Van Guilder, 21, of Woodbury, passed away unexpectedly on May 10th, 2025, due to cardiac arrest while riding the bus. He had a genetic heart condition called CPVT.
Born on June 26th, 2003, Caleb found joy in outdoor activities like skateboarding, fishing, and bonfires. Indoors, he enjoyed video games and anime. Known for his sweet and kind nature, Caleb navigated life with autism and mental health challenges. Caleb's time on earth was much too brief and he will be deeply missed.
Caleb is survived by his mother, Teresa; grandmother, Barb; sister, Shelby; dad, Joseph; grandfather, Jon (RJ); aunt, Linda; uncle, Jeremy; aunt, Denise; first cousins, Allyssa, Drake, and Mariana; many extended aunts, uncles, and cousins; his 3 half-brothers, and his 3 step siblings.
He was preceded in death by his biological father, Harry Neil Weigand; grandparents, Henry and Deloris Gaskins; first cousins, Samantha and Austin Gaskins; and his great-grandparents.
We will have a time for sharing during the service for anyone who would like to get up and share a positive story or memory they have of Caleb. We also ask that people please wear red in honor of Caleb's favorite color.
