Calvin Arnold, a dedicated steel worker and respected member of the union construction community, passed away peacefully at his home on October 10, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on April 26, 1935, Calvin lived a life rich with family values and a strong work ethic.
Calvin was a proud builder, not only of structures in the community but also of homes for his loved ones. He cherished the effort he and his twin brother, Carroll Arnold, invested in constructing houses that became warm havens for their families. His devotion to his family was evident in every aspect of his life, as he always prioritized their needs and relationships above all else.
A member of the Immanual Baptist Church, Calvin found a strong sense of community there, where he made lasting connections and shared meaningful moments with parishioners and friends alike.
In addition to his professional achievements, Calvin found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in visiting flea markets, which reflected his love for collecting and discovering treasures. He created countless memories, not just for himself, but also for his family, who were central to his life's journey.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Arnold, grandson Michael Starkey (Sylvia), and great-grandchildren Anna Belle Starkey and Jacob Calvin Starkey. Their lives were undoubtedly enriched by Calvin's unwavering love and support.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Arnold and Marie Naley Arnold, his daughter and son in law Debbie and Chuck Starkey, his twin brother Carroll Arnold, as well as his other siblings, Evlyn Kuykendall and Raymond Arnold, Jr. Their memories will forever remain a part of his legacy.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at Maraman Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM.
