Calvin MacDuff Hunter, affectionately known as Duffy, peacefully passed away on July 8, 2024. Born on June 7, 1964, Calvin was the cherished fourth child of Richard and Maxine Hunter. From a young age, Calvin's warm and friendly nature endeared him to many, effortlessly forming lasting friendships wherever he went.
During his educational journey, Calvin attended Morningside Elementary, Churchill Junior High, and Skyline High School, culminating in his graduation with a diploma—a testament to his dedication to learning and growth.
In 1985, Calvin entered into marriage with Sabrina Backus, with whom he was blessed with four remarkable children: Steven, Kyle, Jessica, and Joey. Tragically, the family experienced the loss of Joey at the tender age of 17 on March 17, 2007. Following the ups and downs of life's journey, Calvin and Sabrina eventually parted ways.
In 1998, Calvin found true love once more when he married Jamie Doris Stewart the love of his life. Jamie brought into their union Taylor Ray Schrock from her previous marriage. Together, Calvin and Jamie welcomed three more wonderful children into their lives: Bryce Calvin, Cali Justine-Sky, and Bryer Richard—creating a loving family filled with joy and laughter.
A celebration of Calvin's life will take place on Friday, July 12 at the LDS Ward House located at 2702 E. Evergreen Ave., Salt Lake City, UT 84109. The celebration will commence with a viewing at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral service at 11 AM at the same location.
