Brice Hallows Obituary

Brice J Hallows

1926 ~ 2026

Bountiful, Utah-Brice J Hallows, our family patriarch, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, loving husband, brother, friend and longtime neighbor, passed away peacefully February 10, 2026 at the age of 100 in Bountiful, Utah. Brice was born January 18, 1926 in Aurora, Utah to William Dwight Hallows and Lealuth Curtis Hallows. Brice is preceded in death by his life's love and eternal companion, Marilyn Magleby Hallows. They were married in the Manti Temple February 22, 1950. He missed Marilyn every day and the reunion must have been glorious. Brice is survived by seven children; Paula Day (Steve), Timothy James Hallows (Anita), Rick Dwight Hallows (Geri), Terren Newel Hallows (Heidi), Jann Theurer (Mike), Heather Johnson (Donnel), and Angela Kilgore (Chad); 36 grandchildren and 66 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Koze Hallows (Andrea). Brice is preceded in death by his beloved son, Mark Brice Hallows, his parents and brothers Dale Hallows (Kay), Karl Hallows (Gwen), Kurt Hallows, Don Q Hallows, and sister Geneal Tibbs (Tony). Brice grew up on a small farm where he learned hard work in the sugar beets and alfalfa. Work ethic was engrained in him. He loved people and always wanted to help everyone. Brice served active duty with the 6th Marine Division during World War II. He fought for this country and the freedoms that he loved in the Pacific Theater on Okinawa and Guam. He finished his service in China as a peacekeeper as the war ended. Brice loved to share patriotic messages and his love of country. After his military service Brice served a mission in the Southern States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After marriage, Dad and Mom farmed for a few years before moving to Logan, Utah to attend College. Upon graduation, Brice accepted a teaching position in Bountiful, Utah. He later became a Principal, spending much of his career pioneering new programs at West Bountiful Elementary. He loved serving with his faculties, PTA's, and the kids. Family was his greatest pride and joy. Homemade ice cream was a staple at gatherings. Brice and Marilyn served three missions together: the Philippines, Toronto Canada, and Little Rock, Arkansas. They also served at Welfare Square helping to feed the homeless. Over the years, Brice served the Lord tirelessly in many capacities – Mission Presidency, High Counsel, Bishopric, Stake Sunday School, High Priest Group Leader, and minister. He served at the Bountiful Temple for 15 years. His faith and testimony were strong and shared often. Brice loved gardening, camping, traveling with Marilyn, and hard work. He grew up on horses and has finally gone back to the farm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 1:00pm at the Aurora, Utah Ward Building, 85 N. Main Street, Aurora Utah. Viewing will be held that day at 11:30am at the same ward building. Interment will follow at the Aurora, Utah Cemetery.

Thank you for sending this to us. What an amazing full life he lived. Brice was such an awesome person. I´m grateful to have had the opportunity to know him and have a relationship with him! We, including Teigen, have missed him immensely since he moved away and were very sad we wouldn´t see him around the neighborhood on his scooter anymore. It´s comforting to know that he gets to see his wife again after so long. Love you guys!

Mr. Hallows was my principal back in the late 60's and early 70's. What a great man! He was always kind and concerned. He taught me lessons in my youth that I didn't understand until later on in life. I am so grateful once I was old enough to realized what he had taught me. It was so nice to see all of the things he accomplished after surviving me in elementary!

Since childhood my Grandpa Brice has always been my hero. As a young boy seemed super-human. A cowboy, farmer/rancher, WW2 Marine, faithful missionary 4 times over etc. He was the epitomy of what a God fearing red blooded American Man should be. As the Marine motto says Semper fi, (always faithful), described my Grandpa perfectly. He never wavered or faltered a single degree. I hope I can be even a fraction of the Man he is. Now that I'm a grown man with a family of my own Grandpa Brice is still my Hero and still seems Super-human. Say hi to my dad for me on the other side, love you Grandpa.

Grandpa was a great example of service and gospel living. I always will remember him lifting me up as a kid and playfully scraping me along his whiskers on his face teasing me, and maybe most of all, watching BYU games in the basement with all the brothers and grandpa. Sure appreciate the legacy of values and work ethic he's showed me.
