Calvin Sowder Obituary
after a brief illness.
Calvin was born to Leroy Sowder and Ramoth Sowder in Okemah, Oklahoma on March
03,1946.
After owning a successful business, Advance Plating Co., Calvin enjoyed his retirement
years sharing stories with friends and family while sitting in his front yard and taking
drives on backroads with his good friend Dave.
Calvin is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Sandy and his daughter
Shelley. He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Marie) and Craig (Stacey), five grandchildren
and fifteen great grandchildren.
Services for Calvin will be held at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. Visitation will be
on Monday, February 02, at 10:00 AM, with a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will
follow at Wade Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to St. Jude Children's
Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN. 38105. Online
