Cambric Baker Obituary
72, was born in Miami to Edith and Oscar Baker. He and his family moved to St. Petersburg where he attended Jordan Elementary School, Southside Middle School, Gibbs and Lakewood High Schools. While at Lakewood he was an outstanding athlete, lettering in football and basketball. After high school, he enlisted in the Air Force where he served at Grissom Air Force Base in Indiana and overseas in Thailand as a Fire Equipment Manager. He also studied Karate and later rose to the level of 5th degree black belt and taught youth that skill at Enoch Davis Center. Honorably discharged in 1975 he continued to master his construction and contracting skills He went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 16, 2026 and leaves to celebrate his life his daughter, Jaennie Daniels (Ralph ); son, Carlos McGowan; sisters, Suzanne Carter Felton (Willie), Wanda Baker Lawson (James); brother, Glenn Oscar Baker (Cherrye), and a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 am, on January 31, at New Beginnings Church, 3500 13th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, 33713.

I remember when Cambridge got out of the military. He had all these beautiful clothes that he had made from Thailand and I was telling him to go back and get some more we go way back may you rest in peace, my friend
