Cameron M. Solometo

Age 36 passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025 on his birthday very unexpectedly. Born in Elmira, NY 36 years earlier, Cam was the son of Richard Jr. and Shani Ryan Solometo. He graduated from EFA. From an early age Cam enjoyed being around people. He could hold conversations with the best of them. A born salesman he always had an interesting story to share. He could always brighten a room with his smile and laughter. He was a true sports fan who excelled in baseball and loved the NY Jets. Cam loved fitness, was a gifted writer, adored animals and above all cherished his family and friends. He worked various jobs in his life and was very good with electronics. Surviving to cherish his memory are his mother, Shani (Roy) Crawford; father, Richard Solometo Jr.; sister, Ashly Solometo; nephew, Christopher; nieces, Chloe and Lea; half-brother, Corey Hamula; paternal grandparents, Richard J. Sr. (Maryellen) Solometo and Theresa Hamula; paternal uncle, Anthony "Tony" Solometo; paternal aunt, Amanda Hamula; maternal aunt, Timi Ryan; maternal step-grandfather, Michael Ryan; cousins; girlfriend, Brooke Miller and many friends. Cam was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Patricia Hewill and Robert Nauseef. Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway Elmira/Southport, NY 14904 on Sunday, January 4, 2026 between the hours of 2-4 p.m. Memorial donations may be directed to your local animal shelter in his memory.
