Cameron Michael Temple

Cameron Michael Temple entered into eternal rest on February 11, 2025. He was born January 25, 2000 to Angela Temple-Tucker and CW Burruss, bonus son to Morris Tucker. Cameron accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was baptized at Spring Hill AME Zion Church, in Monroe, GA. Cameron continued his discipleship at Second Zion Baptist Church No. 1, New Orleans, LA.
SSG Cameron M. Temple joined the Louisiana Army National Guard in November 2017; before graduating high school at International High School of New Orleans in May of 2018. He joined the LA Army National Guard as a Fire Support Specialist, 13F, in the 1-141 Field Artillery Battalion. The Fire Support Teams are crucial in mission planning, reconnaissance, and surveillance, providing vital information to commanders for strategic decision-making. Physical fitness, mental agility, and the ability to operate under pressure are essential traits for a 13F, as their duties often place them on the front lines in dynamic and challenging environments. Their expertise in fire support significantly contributes to the success of military operations, making them an indispensable asset to the Army. During his recent deployment, SSG Temple adapted and performed effortlessly outside his 13F duties. He performed duties as a section chief in the Radar section, and 100% accuracy of tracking enemy drones. Stateside, SSG Temple also served as part of the Honor Guard, paying the highest respects to fallen Service Members and representing the military profession. He received numerous awards, including the Army Commendation Medal with C-device, Combat Action Badge, Louisiana War Cross, and many other federal and state awards and recognitions. SSG Temple was a Noncommissioned Officer of exemplary caliber, epitomizing a great leader in the Army.
Cameron concurrently attended Southern University A&M College at Baton Rouge, where he was majoring in Business Marketing. He continued his studies while still in the hospital. Cameron leaves to cherish his memories his mother and bonus father Mr. & Mrs. Angela and Morris Tucker. His father CW Burruss. Grandparents; Janet Barnes and Mr. & Mrs. Bobbie and Barbara Temple. His TeeTee, Kelly Elizabeth Temple; Uncles Tyrone Smothers, Bernard Banks Jr, and Raymond Banks II. His Fairy Godmother Kim Temple-Walker; Godparents Kenneth Price Jr & Briana Toussaint and Melisa Henry & Brian Henry. Siblings; Cambrie V. Burruss, Orthello Burruss & Collin Johnson. Bonus Siblings; Kenya, Demorris, Talecia & Tiffany Tucker. Godchildren; Kristian Toney & Sy'rayah Price. Last and certainly not least, "Da Cuzzins!!"; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Cameron was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents Wilhelmina C. Barnes, Major L. Barnes, Sr and Stanley and Cora W. Temple. Best Friend; Alton Charles Williams. I have fought the good and worthy and noble fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith [firmly guarding the gospel against error]. In the future there is reserved for me the [victor's] crown of righteous [for being right with God and doing right], which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that [great] day-and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved and longed for and welcomed His appearing. -2 Timothy 4: 7-8 (AMP)
Relatives, friends of the family, and members of LA Army National Guard are all invited to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, February 22, 2025, 10:00AM, at Second Zion Baptist Church No. 1, 2929 Second St, NOLA. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the hour of service. Interment Temple Cemetery, Amite, LA.
